Alexander-Arnold on his future with Liverpool
The defender has enjoyed a stellar 2024-25 season under new manager Arne Slot, starting all six matches.
However, Alexander-Arnold, 25, has yet to decide on his next move.
The England international is one of three key players whose contracts at Anfield will expire in June, alongside skipper Virgil van Dijk and forward Mohamed Salah.
“I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum] is what I will say,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public and this one won’t be either.”
Liverpool mainstay
Alexander-Arnold joined the club at the age of six and earned his first team selection in 2016.
The right-back has played 231 Premier League games to date and was a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s side that won the league title in 2019-20.
In addition, he has also won the Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, and League Cup.
Liverpool plans to discuss a contract extension with their defender before the end of 2024.
However, some reports suggest that LaLiga giants Real Madrid have also been keeping an eye on Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold made it clear that only the promise of success will persuade him to stay at Anfield.
“The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“I want to win trophies. I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor of anything, if you have a personality that is elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win then that is what drives me.”
