Girona a “small team”, according to Dovbyk

Dovbyk enjoyed a breakout season with Girona, scoring 24 goals and contributing eight assists in 36 matches last season.

The Catalonian club finished third in La Liga, behind Barcelona.

Girona signed the striker from Ukrainian club Dnipro-1 in 2023.

Dovbyk said the pressure of playing for Roma is different compared to his short stint with Girona.

“Last season was fantastic for me, but the time had come to take a step forward,” Dovbyk said.

“[The pressure] will be different. Girona are a small team in Spain; Roma are an important entity in Italy with a lot of history.”

“It won’t be the same. I know the pressure will be there, but football without pressure isn’t football.”
