BCCI TOLD TO IMPOSE ‘UNIFORMITY’ IN PITCH CONDITIONS TO CREATE BALANCE

Furthermore, the BCCI is told to impose “uniformity” in pitches, a former Indian batting coach said.

Moreover, Sanjay Bangar said this is necessary to create balance between home and visiting teams.

He told ESPNcricinfo’s IPL show “Time Out” that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) needs to impose its mandate on all pitches.

Moreover, the former coach cited home teams should not have too much advantage.

“I think BCCI would still like to have a little bit of control over it and maintain the characteristics of a particular surface,” Bangar said.

FORMER COACH SEEKS BALANCE BETWEEN BCCI, IPL ON PITCH CONDITIONS

Moreover, the former coach seeks a balance between the BCCI and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Furthermore, Bangar noted teams may only find it difficult to develop pitches with diverse characteristics at smaller venues.

He cited the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as an example.

The former coach explained that the stadium’s center two pitches are the only ones used for IPL matches.

“In RCB, Chinnaswamy, there are only two pitches on which you can play games because of the size of the ground,” Bangar said.
