BRONNY JAMES GETS LONE BRIGHT SPOT WITH CAREER-HIGH 17 POINTS
Bronny James gets the lone bright spot in the Lakers’ 118-89 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Furthermore, the 20-year-old son of superstar LeBron James scored a career-high 17 pointss on 7-of-10 shooting along with five assists in 30 minutes.
Moreover, it was the longest playing time for the 6-foot-3 guard out of University of Southern California as the Lakers dug deep into their bench.
Bronny actually shared scoring honors along with fellow rookie Dalton Knecht, who also had 17 points as a starter in 31 minutes.
It was Bronny’s longest playing time – and most major rotation minutes – with the Lakers this season.
INJURY WOES FORCE LAKERS TO DIG DEEP AT THE BENCH
The playing time was not given to Bronny due to Milwaukee blowing out the Lakers early.
Moreover, the Lakers’ injury woes at the backcourt forced coach JJ Reddixck to turn to James for major minutes.
Furthermore, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves – LA’s starting backcourt – both sat out due to ankle injuries.
LeBron (groin) himself, along with starting power forward Rui Hachimura (ankle) , also missed the game.
Additionally, key reserves Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) and Jarred Vanderbuilt )(groin) also sat out.
REDDICK HAD TO MAKE DO WITH 10 HEALTHY PLAYERS, INCLUDING BRONNY
Reddick only had to deal with 10 players against a Milwaukee squad that sat out Damian Lillard but still had Giannis Antetokounmpo on the floor.
Furthermore, Bronny is the only player in Los Angeles that alternates from playing with the Lakers to their G League team to hone his game.
Moreover, Reddick didn’t looked far on his bench when he needed offense from his undermanned squad.
““The healthy players are gonna play tonight,” Reddick said.
Antetokounmpo finished with 28 points, while former Laker Kyle Kuzma had 20 points to lead the Bucks (39-30).
