BUCKS VS MAVERICKS GAME SHOWS IRVING-LESS DALLAS DOWN TO 8 PLAYERS
The Bucks vs Mavericks game shows an Irving-less Dallas side playing with only eight available players.
Furthermore, the Mavs have to cope for the worst.
Irving was downed with a torn ACL (anteerior cruciate ligament) on his left knee on Monday.
Moreover, that forced Dallas to rule out their superstar guard for the rest of the season, a month after the shocking Luka Doncic trade.
Worse, the Mavs are also cripped with injuries to Anthony Davis – the main piece Dallas got in the Doncic trade, and three other big men.
Dallas is playing small ball as centers Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford, as well as forward PJ Washingtion, are also out.
KIDD SLAMS IRVING’S EXTENDED PLAYING TIME AS CAUSE OF INJURY
Mavs coach Jason Kidd slammed fan’s theories that Irving’s extended playing time was a factor in his latest injury.
Moreover, the coach described Irving’s injury as a “freak accident.
Furthermore, Kidd insisted that fans should not dwell much on “conspiracy theories.”
“We’re talking about one platy. It’s a freak accient, that’s how it should be reported,” Kidd said.
“We’re reporting on consiracy theories. We want our stars to play. This isn’t supposed to be a rest league,” he added.
KAI ‘PLAYING AT A HIGH LEVEL,’ KIDD SAYS
Kidd praised Irving for “playing at a high level,” as he averaged 24.7b pointsm, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 36.1 minutes.
Furthermore, Irving upped his playing time to 39.9 minutes from 35.9 minutes since the Doncic trade.
Moreover, Kidd understands there’s two sides to a coin when stars don’t play enough or they log extra minutes.
“We can’t talk from both sides and say our stars don’t play enough minutes and guys don’t play enough. They rest,” he said.
“But now, we’re saying they play too much,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Bucks exploited an Irving-less Mavs, 137-107, with Damiard Lillard scoring 34 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and 15 rebounds for the Bucks (36-25).
