Bumrah bummed about missing T20 World Cup
India’s pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is gutted to miss the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, as his back issues will saw him out of the cricket field for up to six weeks.
The Gujarat standout took to Twitter to express his regret on his back injury that will cause him to miss the competition down under, but assured that he keeps his support to his teammates.
Bumrah came back to the national side after a two-month absence due to similar issues on his back, causing him to miss the Asia Cup in UAE where India finished third.
On his return, he played in two T20 internationals against Australia last September, before surprisingly withdrew from the first match of their series against South Africa. Eventually, the BCCI itself has confirmed Bumrah’s omission from the tournament.
The absence of its feared fast bowler is a massive blow to the title aspirations of the Men in Blue, with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also being ruled out due to knee injury.
India will have until October 15 to find their replacements, eight days before their first match against archrivals Pakistan to open their T20 World Cup in the Super12 stage.
