BUTLER ‘HAPPY TO BE PLAYING BASKETBALL AGAIN’ AFTER TUMULTOUS HEAT STINT
Butler was just “happy to be playing basketball again” after dealing with his tumultous stint with the Miami Heat.
He arrives in Oakland after he was traded by the Heat in exchange for ndrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, and a protected first-round pick on Wednesday.
Furthermore, the All-Star forward was all smiles in his introductory news conference as the latest member of the Warriors.
Moreover, Butler “mean it” when he said he is committed to help Golden State claim another championship this season.
“For myself, I’m just happy to be playing basketball again, honestly,” Butler said.
“I think that’s why I’m here and I will do my best to do what everybody wants, and that’s to win a championship. I mean it,” he added.
‘JIMMY BUCKETS’ TO WEAR JERSEY NO.10 FOR DUBS
The player also known as “Jimmy Buckets” showed off his jersey No.10, which he will wear for the Dubs.
Moreover, Butler clarified that he agreed to be dealt to Golden State not just because he received a two-year, USD121-million extension.
Furthermore, the forward was just relieved “not getting suspended no more” compared to his situation in Miami.
“I’m not going to say that (extension) was a big part, but I’m happy about it,” Butler said.
“I just want to be able to go out there and do what I’ve been doing for a very long time,” he added.
WARRIORS GAME PLAN TO STILL REVOLVE AROUND CURRY, BUTLER ASSURES
Furthermore, Butler is aware that the Warriors’ game plan will still revolve around long-time franchise player Stephen Curry.
Moreover, the newly acquired forward sounded off a simple strategy they can use for his first game with the Dubs.
“We good. Pass the ball to Steph (Curry) and get out the way. Easy!” Butler said.
Coach Steve Kerr will be tested to make his new “Big Three” of Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green to work.
The Warriors lost key pieces in Wiggins, Schroder, and Anderson in the trade.
