CELTICS VS MAGIC HAS BROWN DROPPING 36 AS BOSTON HOLDS OFF ORLANDO SANS TATUM

The Celtics vs Magic Game 2 action had Brown dropping 36 as Boston held off Orlando, 109-100, without an injured Tatum.

Furthermore, Brown also had 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who needed to hold off a late rally by the Magic despite hitting 12 3-pointers.

Moreover, Kristaps Porzingis overcame a bloody gash to the forehead and scored 20 points for Boston, which went 25-of-33 from the free-throw line.

The Celtics took a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven first round series without Tatum, who sat due to a bone bruise on his right wrist.

It was the first time the All-Star forward missed a post-season game in his career.

WHITE, JAYLEN LED BOSTON’S FOURTH QUARTER PUSH

Derrick White and Brown led Boston’s fourth quarter push with a combined 17 of the team’s 27 points.

Moreover, White finished with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting with three 3-pointers.

Furthermore, Payton Pritchard came off the bench to score 14 points, while Jrue Holiday added 11 points for Boston.

Tatum was in street clothes in Game 2 after he landed awkwardly after a flagrant foul by Magic guard Kentvious Caldwell-Pope in Game 1.

He had not missed a post-season game for the Celtics in all of his eight seasons with the franchise.

BANCHERO, WAGNER TRIED TO CARRY MAGIC BUT FAILED TO TIE SERIES

Paolo Benchero and Franz Wagner tried to carry the Magic but they failed to tie the series for their team.

Furthermore, Banchero finished with 32 points and nine rebounds, while Wagner scored 25 points in a losing cause.

Moreover, Wendell Carter had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Anthony Black added 11 for the Magic.

Orlando played it physical on Boston after center Goga Bitadze threw a wild elbow shot that hit Porzingis, who left the court with a bloody gash on his forehead.

However, Porzingis returned with a bandage on his head and still managed to smile as he helped Boston fend off an Orlando comeback.
