Champions League Fixtures
- Chelsea vs Borussia Dortmund (1st leg 0-1)
- Benfica vs Club Brugge (1st leg 2-0)
- Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain (1st leg 1-0)
- Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan (1st leg 0-1)
Chelsea vs Borussia Dortmund (1st leg 0-1)
Chelsea are in deep crisis this season despite heavy reinforcements for the past two transfer windows. However, Graham Potter’s side just enjoyed their first victory as the London club beat Leeds by 1-0 in the Premier League.
The momentum can continue when they are taking Bundesliga side Dortmund at Stamford Bridge, with only one goal from the first leg separated them so far.
But it’s worth a note that Dortmund has gone through 10 wins out of 10 since the start of 2023.
Benfica vs Club Brugge (1st leg 2-0)
Meanwhile, Roger Schmidt’s side has gone through six games undefeated in the UEFA Champions League so far this season, including the 2-0 win at Scott Parker’s Club Brugge. It’s hard to see the former Chelsea and Tottenham star’s side making any shock comeback at Estádio da Luz.
Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain (1st leg 1-0)
All the way to Germany, PSG will be without talisman Neymar on the trip to Allianz Arena. A surgery will be carried out in the coming days in Doha, following the Brazilian’s ankle injury last month.
Neymar has been missing PSG games since he was stretchered off during his team’s 4-3 win over Lille in February.
1st leg defeat by 1-0, without their striker who has had 18 goals in 17 games – Another disappointed European competition early exit for Lionel Messi and Co?
Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan (1st leg 0-1)
Lastly, AC Milan is heading to their first Champions League quarterfinals in a decade with the 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg. Rossoneri’s winning streak has just been ended by Fiorentina with the 2-0 Serie A defeat last week.
But this time, Stefano Pioli would love to break the curse as he has never gone past the Round of 16 of a European competition in his career. Would it be different this time?
Conference League fixtures
- Lazio vs AZ Alkmaar
The Conference League is kicking off with Lazio hosting AZ Alkmaar for the first leg of their contest.
Lazio won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1998-99, while they also lifted the UEFA Super Cup in 1999, but the club will be bidding to return to the Champions League for next season.
The Dutch outfit have never won a European trophy, with their best-ever performance in a major competition coming back in 1981, when they reached the final of the UEFA Cup, losing to Ipswich Town.
