CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 OPENING CEREMONY SET AT HISTORIC LAHORE FORT
The Champions Trophy 2025 opening ceremony is set at Huzoori Bagh, a historic Lahore fort, a PCB source told Press Trust of India.
Furthermore, the opening is scheduled on February 16.
Moreover, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi already approved a scheduled list of events.
This is prior to Pakistan-New Zealand opening match at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The decision on hosting the opening ceremony was made by the PCB in conjunction with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
PCB ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF RENOVATED PLAYING VENUES’ SCHEDULES
Moreover, the PCB also announces the dates of the launch of two of the renovated playing venues.
Furthermore, the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium will be officially opened by the PCB on February 7.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been invited by the PCB as its chief guest for the event.
The National Stadium in Karachi will be launched on February 11.
The PCB has invited Pakistan President Asif Ali to grace the festivities.
SHARMA ATTENDANCE IN PAKISTAN, CAPTAINS’ PRESS CONFERENCE SCHEDULE UNCERTAIN
India team captain Rohit Sharma’s attendance for the tournament opening in Pakistan remained uncertain.
Furthermore, a PCB reported earlier this month that Sharma will be physically present for the February 16 opening.
Moreover, a PCB source also said that the board already procured clearances from the Pakistan government to issue visas to all team captains.
Meanwhile, the schedules for the captains’ press conference and photoshoots are still being determined.
The PCB and ICC are still working out the final details for the schedules before these are being announced, reports said.
