It was Shi’s second straight sets victory following his 21-19, 21-19 decision over India’s Ayush Shetty in the previous round.
The top seed will take on Weng Hongyang in an all-Chinese quarterfinal matchup.
Weng advanced following his 21-10, 21-11 win over Chi Yu-jen of Chinese Taipei.
LI SET TO FACE WANG AFTER OUSTING CANADIAN BET YANG
Furthermore, Li Shifeng seeks to crowd Shi for top honors in the men’s singles tournament.
