CRAWFORD WONT FORCE KO BUT NEEDS TO ‘BEAT’ ALVAREZ FOR P4P LEGACY
Crawford won’t force a KO when he challenges a taller and heftier Alvarez for his three or four super middleweight titles in September.
Furthermore, the 37-year-old American champion admitted that his goal is just to “beat him,” referring to Alvarez.
Moreover, Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) took pride in sparring with bigger fighters in the past, which he could use as experience before facing the 34-year-old Mexican champion.
“I don’t got to stop him. I just got to beat him,” Crawford told Manouk Akopyan on his YouTube channel on Monday.
“I’m not going in there trying to knock Canelo out. Can it happen? Yes, absolutely,” he added.

TERENCE TO ‘FIGHT MY FIGHT’ AGAINST CANELO
Crawford has been in constant discussions with his trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre on mapping out the game plan to bring down Alvarez.
Moreover, the American can look no further than get the approach of retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr, a defensive-minded fighter whos uses jabbing, single shots, moving, and holding to get by his opponents.
Furthermore, Crawford is undaunted of going up two weight classes to face Alvarez despite coming off a tough win over Israil Madrimov in August last year.
“I’m coming from a smaller weight class that is faster. So, if he gets caught with a punch that he doesn’t see, he’s definitely capable of getting hurt,” the American said.
“I’m trying to fight my fight. If the knockout is there, of course I’m going to take it,” he added.
‘THE BEST CANELO’ IS WHAT TERENCE EXPECTS IN SEPTEMBER FIGHT
Crawford is aware that critics are lashing out at this fight, since there are other more deserving fighters who deserve a shot first at Alvarez.
Furthermore, BoxingNews24.com reported that Crawford should’ve beaten major players like David Benavidez, David Morrell, and Osleys Iglesias before he faces the Mexican.
Moreover, Crawford is aware of the talk and the criticism, but all he aims for is get the win and boost his legacy among the Pound for Pound (P4) ranks of all-time.
“A lot of people are mad that I got the opportunity. They don’t want to see me get the opportunity for their own personal reasons,” Crawford said.
“When I beat Canelo Alvarez, I’m going to be to- three, pound-for-pound dighters ever,” he added.
