Cristiano Ronaldo made serious mistake in press conference after Al Nassr move

That’s a huge face palm for the former Man United, who parted ways in ugly fashion last year with the English club.

He has just completed a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr with one of the biggest welcome ceremony in football history.

However, the 37-year-old striker made a slip up during his official presentation in Riyadh when mistakenly saying he had “come to South Africa.”

He said:

“The evolution of football is different. So for me, it is not the end of my career coming to South Africa.

“This is why I want to change and to be honest I really don’t worry about what people say.”

Perhaps the Portugal great was disorientated by the whirlwind nature of his arrival at his new club, which saw him fly out to Saudi on Monday night, before undergoing a medical the next morning and then being greeted by thousands of cheering fans.

Many people took this chance to mock Ronaldo on social medias:

“They are paying Ronaldo 200m and he said “South Africa”, not Saudi Arabia. Unreal.” One wrote.

Ronaldo said he’s happy to come to South Africa. I know it’s a slip but still funny“.

Earlier, Ronaldo made himself a spotlight with the split from the 11-year agent Jorge Mendes, marking the end of one of the most powerful duo in football history.
