CURRY DROPS SEASON HIGH 56 POINTS ON 12 3S, FALLS SHORT OF KLAY RECORD
Curry drops 56 points and a jaw-dropping 12 threes in an impeccable shotmaking performance that left the crowd in awe.
Furthermore, the All-Star Warriors’ guard, for all his spectacular long range efficiency, still fell short of the 14 3s by former teammate Klay Thompson.
Moreover, it took less than two quarters before the road crowd watched in awe as Curry put on a show in Orlando.
Interestingly, Curry was also a three-pointer away after the 121-115 victory from matching his career high of 59 points.
The man they also call “Chef Curry” heated up from just five points midway in the second to 21 at halftime.
He won’t cool over the rest of the way.
STEPH GAVE THE GAME BALL TO HIS MOTHER AFTER THE BIG WIN
Curry knew the significance moment and it was not just another Golden State road win.
Moreover, it was the All-Star guard’s 45th career game with nine three-pointers and ninth 50-point game since turning 30.
Furthermore, nothing could go wrong for Curry, who even hit a buzzer beater trey from halfcourt just before halftime.
It was the third quarter when Golden State outscored Orlando, 40-21, with Curry doing much of the damage.
More importantly, the Warriors (32-27) notched their fifth straight victory and their seventh in eight games with Jimmy Butler in the lineup.
BUTLER NOT SURPRISED OF STEPH’S BIG NIGHT, HAPPY TO STEP ASIDE
Meanwhile, Butler was not surprised on Curry’s big night, as he and his teammates gladly gave way to their shooter.
Furthermore, Golden State’s newly acquired forward from Miami had only five points on 1-of-7 shooting.
Moreover, Butler handed out seven assists – mostly to Curry – and shared how he felt after the game.
“It makes everyone want to be great on the defensive side, so we can get him back the ball and watch him do something incredible,” Butler said.
“In a weird way, isn’t it kind of expected by now?” he asked.
