DeMar DeRozan joins Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are acquiring free agent guard DeMar DeRozan, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Kings acquire DeRozan

DeRozan is set to sign a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal that includes moving Harrison Barnes and an unprotected 2031 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs, and Chris Duarte, two second-round draft picks, and cash to the Chicago Bulls.

DeRozan, who will turn 35 next month, is coming off an impressive three-year run with the Bulls.

Last season, he averaged 24 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. while also finishing second to Stephen Curry in voting for the NBA’s Kia Clutch Player of the Year.

A three-time All-NBA selection, he has played for the Toronto Raptors, Spurs, and Bulls across his 15 seasons.

Overall, DeRozan has averaged 21.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists through his 1,110 career NBA games.

DeRozan returns to California

DeRozan’s arrival in Sacramento will be a homecoming of sorts, as he grew up in Compton, California.

He will team up with the All-Star duo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
