EMBIID BRACES FOR KNEE SURGERY NEXT WEEK
Embiid braces for knee surgery next week, with the 76ers set to evaluate him and expect a full recovery moving forward.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old Cameroonian-American All-Star center will be reevaluated by the 76ers in six weeks, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Moreover, consultations were made by Embiid and the 76es with doctors and specialists.
This led to the decision to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee
“The way I was playing a year ago is not the way I’m playing right now,” Embiid said in February.
“It sucks. … I probably need to fix the problem, and then I’ll be back at that level,” he added.
IMPENDING SECOND LEFT KNEE SURGERY FOR EMBIID AFTER EARLY 2024 PROCEDURE
This would be an impending second surgery on the same left knee for Embiid.
Moreover, the seven-footer underwent meniscus surgery in early 2024 before returning for last season’s playoffs.
Furthermore he averaged 33 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, but he was still not his dominant self.
Embiid shot only 44.4%, and he and the 76ers were ousted by the New York Knicks in the first round.
The big man played for Team USA for the first time and won a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics but he only showed up for 19 games for the Sixers that season.

FUTURE UNCERTAIN FOR SIXERS AMID INJURY WOES
The future remains uncertain for Philadelphia (23-53) , which was already eliminated from playoff contention.
Furthermore, Embiid is just one of several players coping with injuries for the 76ers this season.
Moreover, fellow All-Star Paul Geeorge was earlier shut down for the season due to an injury and he struggled with just 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.8 steals.
All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey also dealt with injuries and has came back, but is struggling with a career-low 47.3% shooting and 33.7% from deep.
The Sixers want to keep key reserves Kelly Oubre, Quentin Grimes, Guerschon Yabusele next season.
However, Philadephhia might not afford all of them under the cap, with the Sixers barely staying under the second apron of the luxury tax.
