Pavlovic out for Euros due to tonsilitis

Pavlovic, 20, had to pull out of Germany’s friendlies against France and Netherlands in March due to his bout with tonsilitis.

The Bayern Munich youngster made his international debut in the friendly against Ukraine earlier this month.

Germany inserts Can as replacement

Meanwhile, Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) confirmed that he will be replaced by Emre Can.

The Borussia Dortmund captain played an instrumental role in the club’s Champion League final.

Can also played for Germany 43 times, and he is expected to arrive at the team base camp in Herzogenaurach.

“We want another No.6 in the squad and have therefore decided to nominate Emre Can. He immediately expressed his enthusiasm and willingness to join the team,” Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said in a statement.

“We wanted to have another player in the squad who has played a lot of games and who knows how to deal with the pressure. He can well fulfill the profile that we need now.”

The host nation will kick off their EURO 2024 campaign against Scotland on Friday.
