KID WHO GOT RONALDO SELFIE GETS WARNING FOR INVADING PITCH

The 10-year-old kid, who got the Ronaldo selfie in the EURO 2024 match on Saturday, received a warning for invading the Westfalenstadiion pitch in Dortmund, Germany.

Berat was the only child among the five spectators who invaded the pitch to take a selfie with Ronaldo in Portugal’s 3-0 victory over Turkey.

The child’s father, Cetin, admitted that his son got away with a warning from UEFA for his actions.

“UEFA turned a blind eye because he’s so small,” the father said.

“I’d be too afraid that we’d have to pay a lot of money,” he added.

Furthermore, UEFA vowed to implement “additional safety measures will be deployed” in the stadium moving forward.

KID SAYS RONALDO SELFIE ‘MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE’

Furthermore, the kid said his Ronaldo selfie “made my dream come true” amid threats of a hefty fine and even a suspension.

“I just made my dream come true. Now I have a photo with Cristiano Ronaldo,” Berat told the German newspaper Bild.

“It’s going on a T-shirt and up in my room. But I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep tonight now,” he added.

Cetin said his son told him that he was just going to the toilet.

“Suddenly, I saw him on the roof of the substitutes’ bench and then he started running,” the child’s father said.

Interestingly, UEFA provided no details as to where an updated plan will be enforced on intruders possibly facing criminal prosecution.

PORTUGAL COACH ‘LOVES’ FAN BUT STILL CONCERNED ON PLAYERS’ EXPOSURE TO DANGER

Furthermore, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez appreciates fans like Berat who look up to football icons like Ronaldo.

However, he still expressed security concerns about intruders who might have different intentions toward the players.

“We all love a fan who recognizes the big stars and the big icons in their life. We all agree with that,” Martinez said.

“But there is a very, very difficult moment if those intentions are wrong – the players are exposed and we need to be careful with that.

Additionally, a sixth man tried but failed to get close to Ronaldo but he hit on a steward to slip and crash into Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos.

The incident had Ramos, a Paris Saint-Germain player, fall to the turf.
