FURY RETIRES AGAIN AFTER LOSING TO USYK
Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) calls it quits again after losing by unanimous decision to Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 21.
Furthemore, the 36-year-old English fighter initially absorbed a split decision setback to the Ukrainian champion on May 18 last year.
Moreover, the twin losses to Usyk were the only defeats in Fury’s storied career.
“I’m going to make this short and sweet, I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing,” Fury said in a video posted on social media.
“It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it and I’m to end with this,” he added.
‘THE GYPSY KING’ INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS BEFORE
Moreover, the boxer also known as “The Gypsy King” had been involved in multiple retirement announcements in the past.
Furthermore, the 36-yer-old last told the public of him calling it quits in April 2022 after beating Dillian Whyte.
However, Fury would then make sa comeback in December of that same year.
The London native previously announced his retirement in 2013 and 2017 through social media posts.
This made Fury unconvincing in the boxing world, particularly to his promoter Frank Warren and Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

Furthermore, Hearn was not convinced by Fury’s latest announcement.
Moreover, the promoter also wished his regards to the English fighter if he will make true of his decision this time.
“But if that is the last we see of jim (Fury), he’s had a great career. I doubt it,” Hearn said.
“It’s always best to come into retirement to make sure someone pays you to come out of retirement. But if that’s his lot, much respect to him, and wish him all the best,” he added.
Meanwhile, Warren described Fury as “the best British heavyweight” who had been part of “some magnificent fights.”
“He has been exciting, you know, to be around him. I’ve loved every minute of it, and I hope all the fans have as well,” Warren said.
