GAVASKAR QUESTIONS GAMBHIR IF HE WILL SHARE HIS CT2025 REWARD TO STAFF

Gavaskar questions Gambhir if the latter will share his CT2025 title reward with the same amount to be received by his coaching staff.

Furthemore, the former India captain asked if Gambhir will follow the lead of his predecessor, Rahul Dravid.

Moreover, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will reward Rs3 crore (USD349, 510) each to the players and Gambhir.

India’s assistant coaches and support staff will receive Rs 50 lakh (USD58,252) each.

Additionally, BCCI officials also getting Rs 25 lakh (USD29,126) each.

The former India captain wonders if Dravid was a “good model” in refusing to receive a larger amount.

Moreover, Gavaskar lauded the former coach as “ever the team man” following India’s T20 (Twenty 20) World Cup title romp.

Furthermore, the ex-skipper questions why Gambhir chose to remain mum on this matter.

“The then-coach Rahul Dravid, ever the team man, refused to accept more than his fellow members of the coaching staff,” Gavaskar wrote on Sportstar.

“We haven’t heard anything from the current coach on whether he will also do a Dravid,” he added.

BCCI LAUDED FOR REWARDING TEAM INDIA FOR WELL-DESERVED TITLE

Meanwhile, Gavaskar lauded the BCCI for rewarding all Team India members for a well-deserved title.

Furthermore, the 78-year-old cited the board’s “generosity” after India defeated New Zealand in the final.

Moreover, he explained that the 58 crore (USD10.042 million) total reward was well-deserved.

“The Board, which is now awash with funds, is showing its appreciation for the efforts put in by everybody and rewarding them generously,” Gavaskar said.

“The BCCI is also letting the players keep the prize money that the ICC announced for the winners, which is also a good amount each,” he added.
