Moreover, the City manager says the team “will be better” moving forward.

Guardiola cited Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer’s save on one of Gundogan’s headers, which could have won the game for Inter.

“Sommer made a couple of saves, above all on Josko. We had not a lot, but so clear,” the City coach said.

“It’s the start of the season; the displays will be better, and with more time, we will be better,” he added.

Incidentally, the other Gundogan header went over the bar.

Furthermore, Guardiola sent Phil Foden in over Savinho at the break, as Kevin de Bruyne got injured at halftime.

De Bruyne felt discomfort after making a run late in the first half before he received treatment.

Guardiola promised to provide more updates on De Bruyne’s injury on Thursday.

“I didn’t speak with the doctors yet. (He will be) assessed tonight, maybe tomorrow (Thursday). We will have more info tomorrow,” he said.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland struggled with just 14 touches of the ball throughout the match.

The 24-year-old English striker had scored nine goals for City in four Premier League matches this season.
