HALIBURTON TO KEEP ‘MY JOB FOR BASKETBALL’ AFTER LEADING PACERS OVER PELICANS

Expect Haliburton to keep “my job for basketball” after he led the Pacers over the New Orleans Pelicans, 114-110.

Furthermore, the All-Star forward capped his 34-point performance with nine three-pointers (9-for-18 from deep).

He also had 13 assists and three steals.

Moreover, Haliburton said basketball was getting into “job territory.”

This led to his lack of energy the past few games.

“I think whhat I just have to keep is my joy for the game of basketball,” the Team USA member said.

“Everyone wants to say be happy, have fun. That’s hard to do when you’re losing,” he added.

HAMSTRING, BACK INJURIES SLOWED DOWN PACERS STAR DROPPING 9 TREYS

Moreover, hamstring and back injuries have slowed down Haliburton.

Furthermore, these injuries were cited when the Pacers star’s averages dropped from 20.1 points and 10.9 assists last season to just 15.8 ppg and 8.5 assists this year.

Tuesday’s effort was one short of Haliburton’s highest point total of 35 against the New York Knicks on November 10 last year.

He has since scored a combined 73 points in his past three matches (with an average of 24.4ppg), and he shot 46% (18-for-39) from deep.

The win pushes Indiana to claiming two straight victories after losing three in a row and five of their last eight.

ALL PACERS STARTERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN INDIANA’S BALANCED VICTORY

Moreover, big man Myles Turner backed up Haliburton with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Pascal Siakam had 14 points, while Benedict Mathurin and Quenton Jackson scored 12 points each for Indiana.

A highlight for the match came in the fourth.

When Haliburton knocked down his seventh 3-pointer, he got a “stamp of approval” from WNBA star Caitlin Clark.

Trey Murphy finished with 24 points, CJ McCollum had 23, while Elfrid Payton added 21 assists for the Pacers.
