Kane passed Bayern’s medical test and penned a four-year contract, keeping him at the Bundesliga champions until 2027. The 30-year-old goalscorer has now become Bayern’s most expensive signing, surpassing Lucas Hernandez, who signed for the German side with 80m euro in 2019.
Harry Kane is Bayern’s most expensive signing
Tottenham is to receive €100m fixed fee plus add-ons up to €20m package for Kane’s departure to Germany.
Kane pens a emotional message to Spurs fans after confirming he is leaving after nearly 20 years with the club:
“It’s not a goodbye because you never know how things pan out in the future, but it’s a thank you, and I’ll see you soon.”
On his twitter account, the now-former Spurs star expresses his joy upon joining the new club:
“Been an incredible welcome for me and my family in Munich in the last 24 hours! Buzzing to have signed for such a massive club with an incredible history, can’t wait to get started!
He leaves the Premier League with the record for most goals scored (213) without lifting the title.
At Bayern, Kane will wear number nine, which was left by the club’s record goalscorer and legend Robert Lewandowski.
Kane has had multiple seasons in which he scored 20 or more goals in the Premier League, showcasing his consistent goal-scoring prowess, which proves that Spurs will absolutely struggle to find a replacement.
Among his amazing records, these two are outstanding:
- Premier League Golden Boot Awards: Harry Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot, awarded to the top scorer of the Premier League, multiple times. He has been one of the leading goal scorers in the league season after season.
- Tottenham Hotspur’s All-Time Leading Premier League Scorer (213 goals in 320 games): Kane became Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, surpassing the previous record held by Teddy Sheringham.
Kane is in line for the first major title ever
There is confidence that Harry Kane will be registered in time to face RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup to make his debut for Bayern Munich this evening. It could be his first-ever trophy within 24 hours of leaving Tottenham.
