HCA’S ALLEGED INTIMIDATION MAY THREATEN SUNRISERS OUT OF RAJIV GANDHI STADIUM
The HCA’s alleged intimidation may threaten the Sunrisers to move out of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, a report said.
Furthermore, the Sunrisers accused HCA (Hyderabad Cricket Association) officials of intimidation and blackmailing.
Moreover, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) general manager Srinath TB told HCA treasurer CJ Srinivas Rao that the team will not tolerate such a behavior.
The HCA’s actions “make it evident that you don’t want Sunrisers to play at your stadium,” Srinath said.
He also told the HCA to “inform BCCI, the Telangana govt, and our management” if we need to move to another venue.”
SUNRISERS VALUE 12-YEAR RELATIONSHIP WITH HCA, SAYS SRINATH
The Sunrisers value their 12-year relationship with the HCA, sayd Srinath, noting that they only dealt with the situation recently.
Moreover, SRH has played in only two matches at their home vwnue in Hyderabad ibn the ongoing IPL (Indian Prenier League) 2025.
Furthermore, Srinath also recalled SRH playing the “appropprioate rent” for the stadium and wondered what seems to be the problem.
“We have been working with HCA for the last 12 years. Only from last season have we been facing constant issues and harassment from HCA,” Srinath said.
“Please note that we pay the appropriate rent for the stadium, and during the tenure of the IPL, the stadium is under our jurisdiction,” he added.
HCA HARASSMENT, INTIMIDATION NOT THE FIRST: SRINATH
The HCA’s intimidation and threats against the SRH were not even the first, Srinath said.
Moreover, e-mail as based in the report noted that the HCA president has issued previous threats this year.
Furthermore, Srinath cited that these distactions make the cooperation between the two sides difficult.
“Please note that we pay the appropriate rent for the stadium, and during the tenure of the IPL, the stadium is under our jurisdiction,” Srinath said.
“This unprofessional behaviour creates a hostile environment, making cooperation increasingly difficult,” he added.
JUST FOLLOW THE ‘SIGNED AGREEMENT’ BETWEEN TWO SIDES, HCA TOLD
The HCA should just follow the “signed agreement” with the SRH tp resolve the issue, Srinath said.
Furthermore, the emaill as stated in the report noted that the SRH assured that it would “allocate 10% of complimentary tickets across each stand.”
Moreover, the SRH official is open to a meeting with HCA officials to clear the air.
“We suggest that we go as per the signed agreement between us, as per which we will allocate 10 per cent of complimentary tickets across each stand,” the report said.
“In light of these developments, we formally request a meeting with the apex council members at the earliest convenience to discuss and resolve this matter,” it added.
