ICC chair joins new cricket club advisory board

ICC CHAIR INDUCTED IN MCC BOARD TO REPLACE WORLD CRICKET COMMITTEE
The ICC chair was inducted in the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) advisory board.
Furthermore, Shah joins board that replaces the club’s world cricket committee
Moreover, the former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary is also part of the 13 founding members of the new World Cricket Connects advisory board.
That board will be chaired by former MCC president Kumar Sangakkara.
Shah is expected to grace the second World Cricket Connects forum on June 7 and 8.
Lord’s will then host the World Test Championship final.

Moreover, MCC chair Mark Nicholas expects the sport’s major stakeholders to join the forum.
Furthermore, he is also looking forward to work with “an impressive group of the best minds in cricket.”
“We have assembled an impressive group of the best minds in cricket across several different areas relevant to our sport,” Nicholas said.
“I am delighted to be working with this experienced group and excited about what we can collectively achieve for the benefit of the global game,” he added.
The world cricket committee was formed in 2006.
It met last summer before it was replaced by the new advisory board.

Furthermore, England women’s captain Heather Knight and JioStar chief executive officer Sanjog Gupta were listed among the board’s founding members.
Morever, other prominent names were Sourav Ganguly, Graeme Smith, and Andrew Strauss.
The ICC (International Cricket Council) adopts the recommendations of the world cricket committee.
This is even if the committee is classified as an independent body.
Additionall, it also doesn’t have any formal power in the sport.
“This independent group will shape the annual World Cricket Connects agenda, help facilitate the event’s discussions and in turn maximize the opportunity for genuine impact on the health of the game,” the MCC said.
