IGUODALA LAUDS ‘UNIQUE’ WARRIORS AS GOLDEN STATE HONORS 2015 NBA FINALS MVP

Iguodala lauds “unique” Warriors after Golden State honored its 2015 NBA Finals MVP during a short halftime ceremony.

Furthermore, the 41-year-old 19-year veteran added his No.9 jersey to the rafters behind cheering fans at the Chase Center in Oakland, California.

Moreover, Iguodala was grateful for Golden Staff, teammates, and fans as he thanked him during the ceremony.

“We had this unique team that understood, had third precious ultra-talented assassin (Stephen Curry). Steph, none of this happens without you,” Iguodala said, referring to the Warriors’ All-Star guard.

“None of this would have happened without all of you, the fans,” he added.

The player also known as “Iggy” joins a rare breed of six players.

There players’ names and jerseys were already up there on the rafters.

Moreover, Iguodala officially joined Wilt Chamberlain, Rick Barry, Chris Mullin, Nate Thurmond, Al Attles, and Tom Meschery in the distinguished list.

Furthermore, the four-time NBA champion relished to be part of Golden State’s title teams, with the first one netting him the Finals MVP trophy 10 years ago.

“When we won the first one, it was almost like we had to do it again to prove that it wasn’t a fluke,” Iguodala said.

“That’s just the unique characteristics of great athletes, the one who are never satisfied,” he added.

CURRY PRAISED TEAMMATE ‘WHO CHANGED THE COURSE OF OUR ENTIRE FRANCHISE’

Curry praised his former teammate, “who changed the course of our entire franchise.”

Furthermore, the player also known as “Chef Curry” described Iguodala’s number’s ascension to the rafters as “weird and surreal.”

Moreover, Curry noted the ceremony was beyond seeing a teammate whose number was going to the rafters.

“This is about player who changed the course of our entire franchise. You sacrificed ego for excellence, which for us is the Warriors’ way,” the veteran superstar guard said.

“Since you left that locker room, it has been hard to fill that void,” he added.

Iguodala averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists as he helped the Dubs beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, 4-1, in the 2015 Finals.

Meanwhile, Curry finished with 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting, while Jimmy Butler had 18 points as the Warriors defeated the Mavericks, 126-102.
