AUSTRALIA CAPTAIN RUES ‘MISSED OPPORTUNITIES’

Australia team captain Steven Smith rued his team’s “missed opportunities” that changed his team’s fortunes.

Furthermore, the skipper regretted missing a “full toss” when he was batting on 73 in the 37th over.

Moreover, Smith ran at Mohammed Shami, received a full toss at around knee-height, before missing it completely.

“My plan was to try and put the seamers under a bit more pressure, and just rotate the spin,” Smith told ESPNcricinfo.

“But I didn’t do it very well. I lost my wicket at probably a crucial stage. Had I batted a little deeper, we could have potentially got up to near 300 or something,” he added.
