INDIA TO PLAY ‘HIGH-RISK’ CRICKET IN CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025, SAYS GAMBHIR
Expect India to play “high-risk” cricket in Champions Trophy 2025, Gambhir said on Sunday.
Furthermore, this came after its campaign in the T20I Test series against England.
Moreover, India’s 4-1 win over England in its five-match Test series in T20I (Twenty20 International) format showed that its ultra-aggressive style of play works.
Additionally, Gambhir is looking to continue its approach from T20I to ODI (One Day International) at Champions Trohpy 2025.
“Just try and ply as aggressively as we can. I think we want to entertain the crowd,” the coach told Star Sports.
“We want to entertain, we want to play that high-risk cricket,” he added.
GAMBHIR PLEASED AT GETTING KOHLI, SHARMA BACK FOR INDIA’S ODI SERIES
Gambhir is pleased that the team will get back key players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in time for India’s ODI series against England.
Moreover, the Test will be played just before India plays its Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai.
Furthermore, the coach is convinced that both Kohli and Sharma will typify India’s “ultra-aggressive” style of cricket.
“We are now getting two quality players (Kohli and Sharma) back in who’ve got a phenomenal record in one-day cricket,” Gambhir said.
“Hopefully, they can come in and deliver and probably try and be as aggressive and posiutive as they can,” he added.
