INDIA VS AUSTRALIA SEMIS MATCH IN DUBAI ‘NEW FOR US AS WELL,’ SAYS SHARMA

The India vs Australia semis match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sharma says, is :”new for us as well.”

Furthermore, the India team captain won’t ever call Dubai their home court even if they have won their previous group matches.

Moreover, Sharma noted his team, like Australia, will brace for possible changes on Tuesday.

“It’s not like we know what’s going to happen on these pitches,” the India skipper told ESPNcricinfo.

“We don’t know which pitch will be used in the semi-final, but whatever it is, we will have to adapt and see how it goes. And it’s not our home either – this is Dubai,” he added.

SHARMA CAUTIONS AGAINST VARIED CONDITIONS IN DUBAI DESPITE INDIA’S 3 WINS

Sharma cautioned fans against varied conditions at the Dubai pitch.

Moreover, the captain note varying conditions when they faced New Zealand, with the weather going cold.

Furthermore, he is expecting a “great team” like Australia to adapt.

“We also don’t know how each wicket will play. They look the same, but when you play on the pitches, they behave differently,” Sharma said.

“Australia have been such a great team over the years, so we will expect some fightback, and some nervy times in the middle,” he added.

AUSTRALIA CAPTAIN HOPES EXTRA TIME IN DUBAI TO TRAIN CAN BOOST THEIR CHANCES

Meanwhile, Australia team captain Steven Smith hopes the extra time the team spent in Dubai to train will help boost their chances.

Furthermore, the Aussies’ arrival in Dubai came with no assurance if they would play the semis in Lahore or not.

Moreover, Smith felt their training at the nearby ICC Academy instead of the main stadium could still give them an advantage.

“So yeah, ideal to be here and have a couple of days’ preparation,” the Australian skipper said.

“So yeah, we’re well prepared for tomorrow now and looking forward to it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia announced that Cooper Connolly will replace Matthew Short in time for Tuesday’s match.
