JUN HAO NEEDS TO COME IN FRESH FOR ALL ENGLAND DEBUT, SAYS JONASSEN

Jun Hao needs to come in fresh, Malaysian singles coach Kenneth Jonassen said on Wednesday, when he embarks on his All England debut in Birmingham.

Furthermore, Malaysia’s world No.28 will have to boost his conditioning.

He is also taking part in the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC) in Qingdao next week.

Moreover, Jonassen cited the importance of the Birmingham tournament.

“The All England is the most important tournament during the four weeks in Europe,” the coach said.

“We want him to have more time to prepare for his first experience there,” he added.

JONASSEN APPROVES SHUTTLER TO SKIP 2 TOURNEYS BEFORE ALL ENGLAND

Jonassen approves the plan for Jun Hao to skip two tournaments after the BAMTC.

Moreover, this will get him redy for Birmingham.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old shuttler will sit out the German Open (February 25 to March 2) and the Orleans Masters (March 4 to 9).

Additionally, this will enable him to come fresh for the All England on March 11.

“Some players benefit from playing in warm-up events ahead of a big competition,” the coach said.

“If Jun Hao goes far in those tournaments, he might be too tired to perform well at the All England,” he added.

ZII JIA TO LEAD MALAYSIA’S CHARGE IN BIRMINGHAM; HOH TO PLAY IN GERMAN OPEN

Moreover, Zii Jia has also skipped several tournaments already due to injuries.

World No.58 Justin Hoh will play at the German Open and Orleans Masters in Jun Hao’s absence.

Jun Hao is coming off a runner-up finish at the Kumamoto Masteers Super 500 in November.

However, he was ousted in the first round of the China Masters Super 750 the following week.
