KHAN COACHING TEAM INDIA IN FUTURE ‘AN HONOR’
Khan coaching Team India in the future would be “an honor” if given an opportunity.
Furthermore the 46-yer-old former Indian left-arm fast bowler was asked by Boria Majumdar in Kolkata at a Cil event recently.
Moreover, Khan shared his thoughts in a video posted by RevSports on their website.
“It would be an honor to coach Team India,” he told Majumdar.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor in the Indian Premier League (IPL) retired in 2017.
ZAHEER’S STORIED CAREER AS CRICKETER FOLLOWED WITH COACHING CAREER IN IPL
Zaheer began his storied career in the ICC Knockout Cup in 2000 before he yorked Steve Waugh that beat him for face and earned headlines.
Moreover, he came through with 311 Test wickets in 92 matches to endear himself for fans with his checkered international career.
Furthermore, Khan had an overall 610 scalps in 309 international matches across all formats for the Men in Blue.
Khan’s highlights also include being member of India’s 2011 World Cup-title winning team and the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy squad.
India actually shared weith Sri Lanka the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy hardware.
IPL CAREER CAME AFTER INTERNATIONAL CAREER
An IPL career was in the cards for Khan after an accomplished international career for India.
Furthermore, he played for Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challeners Bengaluru, and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.
Moreover, Khan bagged 102 wickets at an economy rate of 7.59 in 100 matches in the IPL.
He became a bowling coach with MI before he accepted the post as LSG coach last year.
Gautam Gambhir is the current Team India coach, but Khan will always be ready if the opportunity arises.
