KNICKS VS PACERS SERIES SEES NEW YORK FORCE GAME 6 AFTER VENGEFUL GAME 5 WIN AT HOME

Four of New York’s starters were in double figures, with Karl Anthony Towns scoring 24 points along with 13 rebounds.

Mikal Bridges had 12 points and OG Anunoby added 11 points for the Knicks, who also got 12 points from sixth man Josh Hart.

NEW YORK DEFENSE FINALLY SHOWS UP, THROTTLES INDIANA OFFENSE, HALIBURTON

New York’s defense finally showed up, as it throttled the Indiana offense, particularly All-Star pointguard Tyrese Haliburton.

Moreover, the Knicks limited the Pacers to only 45 points in the first two quarters after giving up 43 points in the first quarter in Game 4.

Furthermore, Brunson and the New York defensive dragnet bottled up Haliburton to just eight points and six assists.

Haliburton, who exploded for 32 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds in Indiana’s Game 4 win on Tuesday, went 2-of-7 from the field Thursday.

Aaron Nesmith, who also played a hand in the Pacers’ Game 4 win, was held to just three points on 1-for-8 shooting.

Another Pacers’ starter, Andrew Nembhard, was 3-of-8 for only six points.

PACERS TRY AGAIN TO CLOSE SERIES AT HOME IN GAME 6

The Pacers will try again to close out the series before a friendly crowd in Indiana in Game 6 on Saturday.

Furthermore, it was Indiana’s first Game 5 loss in this year’s playoffs after they closed out the Miwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the same game.

Moreover, the Pacers remain in shape to advance to the NBA Finals since 2000 if they deny New York become the 14th team to bounce back from a 3-1 deficit to win a series.

Reserve Benedict Mathurin finished with 23 points to lead the Pacers, who also got 15 points from Pascal Siakam.

Obi Toppin was the only other Indiana player in double figures with 11 points, as four of the Pacers starters were held to eight points or below.
