MIXED-GENDER GOLF TO ‘CONTINUE BUILDING ON THE MOMENTUM’ FROM RIO 2016, TOKYO 2020: IGF
An IGF official cited the need to feature mixed-gender golf to “continue building on the momentum” the sport built during the past Olympics.
Moreover, IGF Executive Director Antony Scanlon explained golf made a splash in 2016 (Rio) 2020 (Tokyo), and 2024 (Paris).
Furthermore, he noted that they received positive feedback from the golfers themselves.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to see a Mixed-Team Event added to the programme for Los Angeles 2028,” Scanlon said.
“As we continue building on the momentum from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, we’re excited to bring even more attention to our sport through this additional format,” he added.

The Riviera Country Club will be hosting all golf events for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Furthermore, the mixed-gender golf event is just one of six mixed events added for the first time.
Moreover, track and field’s 4×100 meter mixed relay, and archery were also included for LA2028.
Gymnastics, beach sprint rowing, and tennis round out the other mixed events.
