Heartbreak for Barcelona
Barcelona fell to Inter Milan in a classic semifinal tie, as Davide Frattesi’s extra-time goal secured a 7-6 aggregate win for the Serie A champions.
Raphinha’s 87th-minute strike had put Barca ahead, seemingly paving the way to victory.
However, veteran defender Francesco Acerbi equalized to force extra time, where Frattesi delivered the decisive blow.
The loss ends Barcelona’s dream of a treble this season.
They’ve already claimed the Copa del Rey and remain in contention for the LaLiga title.
The Catalan giants haven’t won the Champions League — or reached its final — in a decade.
Yamal promises future Champions League success
Despite the heartbreaking defeat, Yamal promised Barca will bounce back and deliver another European crown to the fans.
“We gave it our all — this year it couldn’t be, but we’ll be back, have no doubt about it,” said the 17-year old.”
“Culers, we won’t stop until we put this club where it belongs: at the very top. I will keep my promise and bring it to Barcelona; we won’t stop until we achieve it.”
“But Sunday is another final, and we all need to be together. Visca el Barça!”
