Yoro “happy to play” in Old Trattford

The 18-year-old French defender signed a huge deal to move to Old Trafford from the French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Manager Erik ten Hag inserted Yoro straight into his lineup for the 2-0 friendly win against Rangers on Saturday.

Yoro had nothing but praise and excitement on his new home.

“The Premier League… this is where the football fully exists,” he said.

“So the fans, the level – because the level is crazy there, there is not an easy game. And, for me, the Premier League is the biggest in the world.”

“You know, it’s one of the biggest stadiums in the world. To be honest, I’m really happy to be here. I’m really happy to play for this team and I’m really excited to see you in Old Trafford.”

Man Utd legend Ferdinand convinced Yoro

Speaking for the first time as a Red Devil, Yoro said United legend Rio Ferdinand convinced him to join the club.

“First of all, I was really impressed to speak with him and. We spoke like 10 minutes about Man United, so he helped me a lot to make my choice,” he said. It was really an honour to speak with him.”

“He just told me this is the biggest club in the world. You know, the fans, even the way to play, the training camp, everything is really big, is really incredible.”

Yoro hopes to make his competitive debut for the club against Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 10th.
