‘GOOD SIGN’ LEONARD SEEN ON THE COURT, MOVING WELL, SAYS LUE
Moreover, it was a “good sign,” says Lue, seeing Leonard on the court and “moving well.”
Furthermore, the Clippers coach admitted the forward’s presence in practice lifted the players’ energy.
“Really good sign, just seeing him (Leonard) out there, moving, moving well. I think the biggest thing for him is just the confidence in it,” Lue said.
“So it was really good to see him on the floor and it gave us a little juice today just for our guys seeing him on the floor,” he added.
Leonard was seen leaning against a basketball stanchion after practice.
NO RUSH TO BRING KAWHI BACK ON THE COURT, CLIPPERS COACH INSISTS
Furthermore, there’s no rush for Los Angeles, Lue said, to bring Leonard back on the court.
Moreover, Lue said he and the coaching staff will stay patient with the forward’s progress as he inches closer to a return.
“We just want to make sure he’s 100%. We don’t want to get him out there,m 70%, 75%,” the Clippers coach said.
“Like, let’s just take our time, make sure we get it right … We’re not going to let him skip steps, and so we want to do right by Kawhi,” he added.
The Clippers have been a surprise without Leonard so far this season, as they’re sixth in the Western Conference with a 14-11 record.
