Messi returning to Barca?

The 2022 World Cup champion did return to Catalan earlier last week, but it was during his off days from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentinian attended the Atletico Madrid game last weekend as his former club pulled a tight victory at Spotify Camp Nou, with Ferran Torres scored the only goal.

However, Barca is believed to have been working hard over the past few months to re-sign Messi after it emerged that his situation at Paris was not positive.

Reports in Spain had suggested that Barcelona would be offering Messi a two-year contract worth €13 million per season (net).

However, as per the aforementioned outlet, Messi, Busquets, and Alba discussed staying at the club for just one more year.

That is one of the details that the club and the player are yet to iron out, but as things stand, Messi’s return to Barcelona seems to be edging closer and closer.

Earlier this month, it was also reported that Messi offered €400m megadeal as Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal joined the race to sign the 35-year-old on a free transfer.
