The group, named Futuro Vegetal, even shared photos of their act of vandalism on social media.

Additionally, the vandals also posed a picture holding a banner that read: “Help the planet. Eat the rich. Abolish the police.”

The Inter Miami star purchased the exclusive villa in 2022 after leaving Barcelona.

Futuro Vegetal explained their actions on X, saying Messi’s mansion “is an illegal construction.”

“We tinted Messi’s illegal mansion in Ibiza. The Mansion is an illegal construction that the footballer acquired for the exorbitant sum of 11 million euros.”

“Let’s tackle the problems at the root. We need a radical change of system to face the Climate Crisis.”

Argentina president calls for safety

Meanwhile, Argentina President Javier Milei expressed his support over Messi and his family.

“In Spain, communists who want to “murder the rich and abolish the police to end climate change” vandalized a home of Lionel Messi and his family,” he wrote on X.

“I stand in solidarity with the Messi family for this cowardly and delusional event and I ask Pedro Sanchez’s government to guarantee the safety of the Argentine citizens who live in the Kingdom of Spain.

Milei, Argentina’s libertarian leader who took office last December, even blamed “communism.”

“Communism is an ideology fostered by envy, hatred and resentment towards the successful. It has no place in the free and civilized world.”

Messi is still recovering from his ankle injury he sustained in Copa America.
