The former Barcelona boss has been out of work since leaving Spain after the World Cup and has been linked to multiple clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that the agreement would be decided within two days, with the final details on Lucho’s coaching staff and their contacts.
Previously, PSG had their talks with Julian Nagelsmann collapsed as the former Bayern Munich would not join the Ligue 1 giant.
Current manager Christophe Galtier is expected to leave after just one season in charge at PSG.
Aside from Enrique, names such as Sérgio Conceição and Marcelo Gallardo have been linked with the reigning Ligue 1 champions. Enrique was a huge figure at Barcelona, both as a former player and manager. The Spanish manager had taken the Catalan club to one of their greatest seasons with the treble in 2014/15 and double one season after that.
Per Sport, Luis Enrique initially hesitated to negotiate as PSG was also interested in Nagelsmann. Still, he is now ready to join, with the club expected to announce his arrival next week, according to the media, as mentioned earlier.
The Spaniard has become the favorite of the Parisian club’s top brass because of his experience and ability to build a team rather than focus on a single player. Fundamentally, club president Nasser Al Khelaifi and sporting advisor Luis Campos agree with his arrival.
