Man United 2-1 Barcelona (3-2) – Highlights

The 2-2 draw at Camp Nou despite scoring first a week ago forces Barcelona to settle the result at Old Trafford.

Again, the Catalan took the lead, this time Robert Lewandowski left his mark on English soil with the penalty at the 18th minute.

Bruno Fernandes became the villain when he hauled down Alejandro Balde in the penalty area, Lewandowski converting the subsequent spot-kick despite David de Gea’s best efforts which almost saved the spot-kick.

This is the Polish’s 39th goal in major European competitions since the start of the 2019-20 season, which is the most any player has registered during that span, while he also reached the 25-goal mark for the 12th campaign in succession.

But Fred canceled out Lewandowski’s milestone by equalising early in the second half.

Man United’s midfielder made a perfect first touch to leave Barca’s defender behind, only to shoot it low and beat Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Antony, who just returned from injury, scored a big goal to complete the turnaround for his side 17 minutes from time.

Red Devils held on for their first victory over their European competition’s rival since April 2008, when they won in the Champions League semi-final.

Comeback kings United keep the European dream alive

Man United came from behind to stun Barcelona at Camp Nou, and once again, they did it again to end their opponents’ 11-match unbeaten streak away from home.

It was only the Red Devils’ second win in 12 attempts against the Blaugrana, who were eventually eliminated from Champions League and now Europa League.

Barca’s disappointed results in European competitions carry on

The Catalan club have just won one of their last 15 games in Europe against teams from the top 5 European leagues (D5 L9), as many defeats as in their 50 previous such games (W31 D10 L9).
