Mbappe, Neymar congratulate PSG on winning Champions League

PSG recorded the biggest win in a Champions League final, defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich to lift the trophy for the first time in club’s history.

Mbappe, who left the Parc des Princes to join Real Madrid last summer, gave PSG its flowers in a social media post.

“The big day has finally arrived,” the France captain posted on Instagram.

“Victory and with the manner of a whole club, Congratulations, PSG.”

Neymar, who spent six seasons at PSG and scored 82 goals, also congratulated the Ligue 1 side on their achievement.

“Congratulations, PSG,” said the Santos striker, adding five clapping emojis in an Instagram story that featured a video of PSG captain Marquinhos lifting the Champions League trophy.

Long wait is over

PSG had been striving for years to win the Champions Legaue since being bought by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.

The French club assemblied a star-studded squad featuring the likes of Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi.

They came close in 2020, losing the final to Bayern Munich in Lisbon.

French teenager Desire Doue starred on Saturday, scoring twice after assisting the opening goal for Achraf Hakimi.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and 19-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu completed the rout, sealing the biggest winning margin in a Champions League final.
