MENSIK STUNS DJOKOVIC TO WIN FIRST MIAMI OPEN TITLE, DENIES SERBIAN 100TH ATP TITLE
Mensik stuns Djokovic, 7-6(4), 7-6(4), in a rain-delayed match that was marred by 90% humidity and the Serbian even had problems with his eye.
Furthermore, the 19-year-old Czech Republic teenager sputtered his Serbian idol with 14 aces and was only broken once during the match.
Moreover, Mensik made sure her acknowledges his 37-year-old Serbian opponent, whom he profusely lauded as his idol.
“You’re the one I idolized when I was young,” Mensik told Djojovic during the awards ceremony presentation.
“I started playing tennis because of you,” he added.

Djokovic was clearly the sentimental favorite and the Miami crowd made sure he knew it through a warm applause he received after the match.

Furthermore, Djokovic also fell short of a record seventh Miami Open title but he was happy for Mensik.
“This is a joyous moment for him (Mensik) and his family – an unbelievable tournament, first of many,” Djokovic said.
“It hurts me to admit it, you were better. In the clutch moments you delivered the goods. For a young player like yourself, this is a great feature,” he added.

SABALENKA TRIUMPHS AGAIN, KNOCKS OFF PEGULA FOR WOMEN’S TITLE
Sabalenka triumphed in the big stage again, this time knocking off Jessica Pegula, 7-5, 6-2, to rule the women’s singles title.
Furthermore, the 26-year-old Belarussian world No.1 avoided Djokovic’s fate on Saturday and capped his night with a backhand passing shot on match point.
Moreover, Sabalenka was grateful she didn’t encounter any major rain delay in her final that could’ve switched momentum against her.
“Thank god the rain stopped. It was like Miami was crying that I won this tournament,” Sabalenka said.
