Argentina captain of the World Cup and Copa America winners has been at the top of the game since emerging through Barcelona’s ranks as a fresh-faced teenager. 37 years of age, he’s still lived up to the hype and won trophies, scored goals after goals. His journey from a young prodigy to the most decorated footballer of all time is a source of inspiration for all. His status will prevail at the test of time, a true testament to his genius.
Messi’s long-term rival, Ronaldo, is forced to settle for second spot. Earlier this week, Messi edged Ronaldo’s record with 169 goals and assists in 21st century with fewer games needed.
