Tyson slaps Paul during face-off
Tyson, 58, will face YouTuber Paul, 27, marking the former world heavyweight champion’s first professional bout in 19 years.
Both fighters tipped the scales at their weigh-in, as fans in Dallas cheered Tyson and booed Paul.
As Tyson and Paul went face-to-face on stage, the boxing great suddenly slapped the social media star before security separated them both.
“Talking’s over,” Tyson told host Ariel Helwani, as he refused to explain why he hit Paul or answer more questions.
Paul said the fight just became more personal.
“I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, but tomorrow night I’m knocking you the f*** out. I’m f***ing him up.
“He hits like a b***, it’s personal now, he must die!” Paul screamed.
“Iron Mike” will be back
Prior to the face-off, Tyson said fans will witness the return of the old ‘Iron Mike’ in the ring.
“There are no feelings attached,” Tyson said. “My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble.”
Paul has a pro record of 10-1 (7 knockouts), with his sole loss coming by points to Tommy Fury, Tyson Fury’s half brother, in early 2023.
Meanwhile, Tyson made his boxing comeback in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
The Paul vs Tyson bout will stream live on Netflix.
