The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) confirmed Militao’s injury after medical exams were completed on Thursday.

“The CBF medical department carried out a clinical examination and magnetic resonance imaging on the athlete (Militao),” the CBF said.

“The athlete was disqualified from two Brazilian national team matches in the qualifiers,” it added.

On the other hand, the federation “stands in solidarity with the athlete at this time and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
