Bayern Munich put five against the Ukrainian side as Muller scored a goal and hit an impressive record, equalling the legendary Ronaldo.

Bayern Munich, on their part, registered their third consecutive Champions League victory with a convincing 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Muller equalled Ronaldo’s record
With his goal against Donetsk, the German has now scored in 16 different CL seasons, equalling Ryan Giggs and Ronaldo. Only Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema scored in more (18).
The 35-year-old striker proved his longevity in the game at the top level. He now edges closer to another of Ronaldo’s milestones with the most games and wins at the European club elite competition.

According to the stats by Transfermarkt, ‘Mr Champions League’ is leading the way. Cristiano Ronaldo has won it five times (four with Real Madrid and once with Manchester United) and is the competition’s top scorer with 140 goals.
He also tops the list for wins with 116 wins in 183 Champions League games. In second place is Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller, who has 106 wins in 152 games with the updates in September 2024. The German won the competition with the Bavarian giants back in 2020. Legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas takes third spot, winning 100 of his 177 Champions League games.
