PODZIEMSKI UNMOVED BY TRADE CHATTER AS MARKKANEN RUMORS PERSIST
Furthermore, Podziemski is unmoved by the trade chatter.
Moreover, rumors persist about him being moved to acquire Utah Jazz big man Lauri Markkanen.
On the other hand, the 21-year-old is taking it all in stride amid multiple reports of him in a possible Markkanen trade.
“It’s cool to see different things every day – people’s comments, and I should be (traded) or shouldn’t be,” Podziemski said on “The Dinner Table Podcast” as reported by Yahoo! Sports.
“For me, from a basketball perspective, social media aside, I try to put that away and just work on what I can control right now,” he added.
The Greenfield, Wisconsin, native embraces it and doesn’t get frustrated.
“No one likes to admit it, but everybody sees… the good and the bad,” the player also known as “Podz” said.
“It’s very fun for me actually. I love it,” he added.
DUBS’ UNSURE STAND ON MOVING PODZ A ‘STAMP OF VALIDATION’ FOR YOUNG GUARD
Moreover, the Dubs’ unsure stand of moving Podz was a “stamp of validation” for the young guard.
Furthermore, Utah reportedly wants Podziemski or Jonathan Kuminga to be involved in any Marrkanen trade.
However, Golden State is reluctant to move both or any one of the two players Utah wanted.
“It’s a stamp of validation,” Podz said.
“That I’m doing all the right things – everything that I tried to do my rookie year, they’re all the right things, and I’m going to do (that) in the second year,” he added.
This early, the 6-foot-4 guard is looking for an “elevated role” in his second year with the Warriors.
PODZ READY FOR OCTOBER TRAINING CAMP REGARDLESS IF HE STAYS WITH DUBS OR NOT
Furthermore, Podz is ready for October training camp whether he stays with the Dubs or with another team.
“If I’m in a Warriors uniform or if I’m in a different uniform come October that’s where I;ll be,” Podziemski acknowledged.
“Training camp starts October 1,” he added.
However, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy is high on Podziemski.
Podz’ value increased after sharpshooter Klay Thompson left for the Dallas Mavericks in a sign-and-trade.
Additionally, Warriors forward Draymond Green publicly advised Golden State management from further trades.
For Podziemski, he’s keeping a positive outlook amid all the chatter.
“Whatever group of guys I’m with is the ones I got to win with so that’s just kind of how I look at it,” he said.
