NEW ZEALAND READY FOR ‘SCRAP’ VS INDIA IN CHAMPIONS TROPHY FINAL: SANTNER

New Zealand is ready for “scrap,” Santner said, against India for the Champions Trophy 2025 hardware to be disputed on Sunday.

Furthermore, the skipper acknowldged India’s seemingly “homecourt advantage” of playing in Dubai for all its matches in the tournament.

Moreover, Santner is convinced that his team will find a way to neutralize their opponent’s advantage.

“They’ve played all their games here in Dubai and know that surface. Obviously, the surface will dictate a little bit of how we want to operate,” the Black Caps captain said.

“It might be a little bit slower than what we got in Lahore. It might be more of a scrap, but we’re down to scrap,” he added.

BLACK CAPS SHOULD BE ‘BETTER FOR THE RUN’ AFTER PREVIOUS INDIA MATCHUP, SAYS SKIPPER

The Black Caps should be “better for the run,” Santner said, after their recent matchup against India.

Moreover, India defeated New Zealand by 44 runs in a Group A match but both teams were already through the next round at that time.

Furthermore, Santner stressed the Black Caps became better despite adjusting their play from Lahore in Pakistan to Dubai.

“It’s just the general feel of this tournament, moving around a lot. It’s all part of the challenge,” the left-arm spinner said.

“Obviously, in Pakistan and Dubai. I think the guys understand it’s part of it these days,” he added.

LEGENDARY CRICKETER SAYS INDIA SHOULD NOT CHANGE PLAYING WITH 4 SPINNERS

A legendar cricketer believes India should not change its approach of playing with four spinners in the final.

Furthermore, Sunil Gavaskar noted India should not change its starting XI and keep attacking New Zealand on Sunday with four spinners.

Moreover, the 75-year-old former India national captain hopes coch Gautam Gambhir will continue using Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav to attack the Black Caps.

“I think it is going to be 4 spinners. It has to be. Why change now?” Gavaskar asked.

“It’s shown Chakravarthy’s inclusion, Kuldeep’s inclusion has shown how effective they can be. And also, wicket-taking balls are the best dot balls in limited-overs cricket or any format of the game,” he added.
