What happened
Aside from his on-the-pitch talent, Neymar is a keen poker player who shows up at prestigious tournaments, both online and off-line.
He is currently ‘enjoying’ his off-time since the season has already been over after his ankle injury. And when Neymar’s not training or dancing around the ball, he gets his hand on his second-favorite sport.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Neymar lost €1million which is around £880,000, a grail number for any of us here.
We could just go ahead and band our heads against the wall if we lose even 1/10 of that amount, in a space of an hour.
And Neymar was all of us when he found out how much he just lost, well, at least he made us think so when he live streamed his casino session on Twitch
For Neymar, he proceeded to cry and then screamed. A mock Titanic theme then started to play before Neymar said “Oh f**k” before he let out a laugh, and that’s when we figured out that he was just pretending after all.
A friend could be heard saying he went “from a million to zero in 60 minutes”, before Neymar joked: “I’m going to put this on YouTube.”
The Brazilian clearly wasn’t too upset at just losing €1million!!!
Neymar among highest earners of French Ligue 1 players
You may wish that your bank account could reach somewhere near €1million, but it’s frustrated for us to know that the Brazilian forward earns three times of that amount in one month.
French outlet L’Equipe released a report earlier this week showing top-paid footballers in Ligue 1, and unsurprisingly, our guy is up there.
Neymar is only second to Kylian Mbappe and ranked higher than 2022 FIFA World Cup champion Lionel Messi, his teammate at Paris Saint-Germain. The 31-year-old reportedly takes home a monthly €3,675,000 wages, no doubt he has always been featured in the list of top 10 highest-paid sportsmen of the world by Forbes’s annually report.
So, that sort of money is merely a drop in the ocean for Neymar.
Neymar staying at PSG?
The forward will miss out the rest of the season for ankle injury which required surgery, and news is flying around surrounding his future at the Parc des Princes.
According to some reports, Neymar would love to end his career in France with the capital club, but things could not be ruled out for him to be lured away, if the transfer fees could be met.
