Another injury blow for Neymar
The Brazilian came on in the 58th minute of his team’s 3-0 win over Esteghlal in an Asian Champions League Elite match on Monday.
However, Neymar was subbed off less than 30 minutes later with what appeared to be a thigh issue.
Footage soon emerged of the forwards throwing his shinpads and boots away as he looked frustrated from his recent injury.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a hat trick to lead Al Hilal at the top of the league phase table of the AFC Champions League.
Neymar couldn’t catch a break
Neymar, who joined the Saudi Pro League side in 2023, has only played seven games for Al Hilal.
The 32-year-old made his return after a year-long absence during Al Hilal’s AFC Champions League clash against Al Ain.
He sustained an ACL injury during Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.
Al-Hilal currently leads the domestic standings, having won all seven of their games.
However, Neymar cannot be registered for Saudi Pro League games until January.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Neymar will be assessed by Al Hilal’s medical staff after suffering an apparent hamstring issue.
